About Mixed Media Sculptures

While I prefer making paintings, I also enjoy doing other things and create sculptures using techniques I have learned. In these cases, I use Powertex mixed with all kinds of fabrics and other materials to shape the figure. I also use the Powertex to create my own clay. Coloring the figure is done in various ways, including painting and brushing on paint, metallics and pigments. It’s enjoyable to do and created enjoyable results.

About other Various Artwork

Just to create something, playing around and not thinking to much. Various artwork is fun to do and you’ll get something unique in return. The first series are small mixed media paintings made with postcards I bought on a Holliday. By making this, the image of this Holliday pops into my mind and I can dream about it again. I also made something special and unique to hang by the front door. And a special chandelier with memories incorporated in it. Anything is possible. I use the techniques I learned and I get something special in return.

Other Various Artwork

Used materials in Mixed Media Sculptures and other Various Artwork

I only use quality materials.
I made these sculptures with Powertex. It gives me lots of possibilities. Often I use various fabrics and applications, that are painted after they are hardened. I also make my own clay from Powertex.
The foot of the sculpture is made from gypsum concrete or from a special iron pin with a flat surface to stand on.
For coloring the artwork I use Amsterdam Experts Acrylics and Inks, Fluids and High Flow Acrylics from Golden, and other various professional brands. The paint is highly pigmented and the colors are bright and deep and they will last. Besides acrylics I also use pigments, metallic, powders and so on, all from the known professional brands and way to much to mention here in a list.
I also use various mediums (thinners, thickers, gels) of professional brands like Golden and Liquitex.
I varnish all my artwork for protection and perhaps for a little shine. Some of my artwork is varnished in a Matt finish.
