The inspiration for these artworks are the swamps in the park nearby my house. In the fall they are really beautiful to walk through on a wooden bridge and my dog loves to jump into the waters. Lots of leaves and branches on the ground, lots of lovely colors.

This is a beautiful matter painting with some real cork embedded on the canvas, #1 of two of these paintings. Slowly building op layers with lots of different materials. I played with coffee grind, with sands, with Powertex and Easy3DFlex and I made my own crackle paste. Layering and texturing is just something I love. Creating this kind of background is very satisfying, it gives me room to play and to work very intuitive, often with my hands. My studio is a mess afterwards, but I don’t mind. I’m adding layers and colors without thinking. The paint flows and decides where it wants to go. I played with fluids and inks as well as heavy body acrylics.

The cork is really embedded in the painting, well ‘glued’ to the surface, but it is on top of the painting and you can look underneath.

This painting is made with Powertex, my base for the structures. I used coffee grind and different kinds of sand for the textures. And I also made my own crackle paste with Powertex.
The color is build up with acrylics, fluids and inks.
This painting is painted on a quality 3D stretched canvas and I painted the sides in dark brown. You don’t have to frame this work, but framing will give it a whole new dimension.
The painting is covered with a mat varnish. It is protected and may be wiped with a damp cloth.
