About Acrylic Paintings
Acrylic paint is a nice material with lots of possibilities. You can paint very precieze with acrylics, but along my path of creative exploring I notice that I don’t feel the need to control the paint completely. Some unpredictable moves make me enjoy the proces of creating even more. I like to thin down my paint and I like to experiment with special extraordinary colors, shades and iridescent paint. And I even like to do an acrylic pouring once in a while.
As my journey is moving along, I notice that I like to add more and more media to my work and that brings me to Mixed Media and Matter Painting. But sometimes I just enjoy playing with acrylics only, either with a brush or with a palet knife.

Used materials in Acrylics
I only use quality materials.
My paintings are painted with Golden and Amsterdam Experts Acrylics, and other various professional brands. This paint is highly pigmented and the colors are bright and deep and they will last.

The canvasses I use are all stretched on a quality stretcher. And the panels (canvas boards) I use are from a fine quality, not the cheap ones. The paper I use is heavy quality, at least 140 lbs watercolor paper, so it doesn’t get satiated by all media on top. And the canvas pads are also from a respected brand.
I always paint the sides of a stretched canvas or boards, sometimes in one color, other times in the colors of the painting. You do not need to frame the artwork, but framing in a cradled frame will give the painting a whole new dimension.
Framing these artworks made on paper, really adds a special effect. The frames don’t need to be expensive and the artwork doesn’t have to be behind glass. You may even skip the passe-partout and mount the artwork as if it is floating. It’s just what you like the best.

I varnish all my artwork for protection and perhaps for a little shine. Some of my artwork is varnished in a Matt finish.
