About Mixed Media on Paper

Working on paper and just playing around gives me joy. Playing without a specific goal and just enjoy doing. It inspires me, loosens me up and lets me experiment with new forms, colors and materials. It is so much fun to do! Playing around with lots of mixed media lessons is also something I like to do; just to learn new techniques and new insights.

I collect the loose paper art in a binder, just for me to keep. So pretty to look at and to see the collection al together.
Other papers are gonna be used in other mixed media art projects. I make them as collage papers.
Whatever I make on the loose papers, can be an inspiration to make on a canvas too. Not always of course, but whatever I like, I use more: color combinations, structures, textures, materials. By working completely free from expectations, I discover what I like and I want to do more of what I like.

Of course the artworks are not for sale. For me they are references.

Used materials in Mixed Media on Paper

I only use quality materials.
For coloring the artwork I use Amsterdam Experts Acrylics and Inks, Fluids and High Flow Acrylics from Golden, and other various professional brands. The paint is highly pigmented and the colors are bright and deep and they will last. Besides acrylics I also use various inks, Indian inks, pigments, metallic, powders and so on; all from the known professional brands and way to much to mention here in a list.
I also use various mediums (gesso, thinners, thickers, gels) of professional brands like Golden and Liquitex.
The paper I use is heavy quality, at least 140 lbs watercolor paper, so it doesn’t get satiated by all media on top.
I varnish all my artwork for protection.
