Personal Memories in Art

Working with personal items

Sometimes I choose to add personal items to my artwork — a way to capture a memory, honour a story, or simply celebrate something beautiful.
From a piece of birch bark or a forgotten seashell, to the ashes of my father-in-law or a mountain bike gear from my son — these items carry meaning. And through my art, I give them a new place.
Not all memories are heavy. Some are joyful, some are light, others are full of love. What matters is that they matter to *you* — and I love working with that.

Preserving your memories

Some life moments deserve a special place.
A farewell. A new beginning. A memory full of joy or meaning.

I create custom artworks using personal objects — carefully, lovingly, with attention to your story. Whether it’s a small keepsake, ashes, shells, a piece of fabric or something only you would recognize… together we’ll explore how to give it a lasting form.

An emotionally valuable and lovingly crafted relic to cherish the many memories.

Matter Painting

The world around me — in all its beauty and imperfection — inspires my matter paintings. When you truly open your eyes, you start to see how rich textures and hidden layers surround us. That depth and diversity of colors, structures, and materials is what moves me.
In my custom preserved memories pieces, I often draw from this same inspiration. The combination of organic materials and personal items creates a tactile connection between art and emotion. For me, this process is pure love — an intuitive dialogue between what I feel and what I create.
I rarely start with a fixed idea. Instead, I let instinct guide me. I gather my materials, follow the rhythm of the moment, and build the painting layer by layer. Each layer adds meaning — just like the stories and memories we carry in life.

Materials and Technique

Quality and longevity are very important to me. I use professional materials such as Amsterdam Expert Acrylics, Golden Fluids and High Flow Acrylics, pigments, and metallic powders. These create intense, lasting colors that keep their depth over time.
To build texture, I use Powertex materials such as Easy3DFlex, Stone-Art, and Powerwax. I combine these with natural elements like sand, marble dust, aged lime putty (sumpfkalk), or coffee grounds — and sometimes, personal keepsakes that turn a painting into a custom preserved memory.
All my canvases and panels are made from fine quality materials and finished on all sides. Each artwork is sealed with a protective varnish, matte or glossy, to preserve its beauty for years to come.
